yet the word 'hentai' just means 'pervert'. when used to describe things, it means porn. However, other things mean porn, as well... ecchi is just 'H' spelled out, which is short for 'hentai', and you can all it 'ero' as well...

I thought we were discussing about the new manga? I saw the webpage (^_^) There wasn't much stuff about the summary about the story but looks like Ginta's in 9 grade (even though he doesn't look like one) and accidentally goes into a different world. I wonder what the title means....

Ok, reading the thread, 変態(hentai) can be assimilated with pervert but it more means the state when "your sexual desire isn't normal" or it also has another meaning that "The time when animals change their form during their growth". That's what I looked up in the dictionary.

Well that's how it's spelled. If you take it one kanji by another, I guess the changing form definition fits better but most ppl use it to say "pervert" or "freak"

well....i think a proper english translation would be not conforming to the usual forms, manners, styles of people.........perverts can also be referred to people who have strange habits..or wierd or disgusting
